The "Wound Man" on the title-page of the 1952 edition of The Apologie and Treatiste of Ambroise Paré is a reduced reproduction of the wood
engraving on the title-page of the first English edition of The Method of
Curing Wounds made by Gun-shot, London, 1617. The only extant copy is in
the Bodleian Library, Oxford; the Publishers are indebted to Bodley's
Librarian for a photograph. (courtesey of the University of Chicago,
